Our Time in Bahrain

Farmers Market

The Farmers Market is only open from October to April timeframe because of the weather. We would come every Saturday and have a nice breakfast and then shop. It was truly a wonderful way to spend your Saturday morning.

The Q House Flat in Juffair

This was our very first dwelling in Bahrain. It was a great little flat. The base was a short distance walk and American Alley was only two blocks away.

So good but oh so spicy!

Buying carpets

A rug shop in the Al Ali Mall. They will pull out over a dozen rugs in hopes of you buying even just one.

When it rains it floods

Rain is such a rare occurrence and it tends to flood when it rains for even a short period of time.

American Alley

Fondly named American Alley after all the American restuarants located on this one way (most of the time) street - KFC, Chili's, Macaroni Grill, Fuddruckers, Marble Slab, Caribou Coffee, Starbucks are just a few.

A huge warehouse filled with many vendors selling vegetables, herbs and so much more! I loved coming here but the smell could be oh so bad at times.

Villa in Juffair

This is the first villa we lived in that was located right outside the base. It was in walking distance to the front gate and American Alley.

T1 Court Flat in Juffair

We secured this flat after Micah left and we wanted a smaller place. It was several blocks from the base so we rented a vehicle when we moved here. It felt like living in a hotel and surprisingly it was under budget.

Dallas Flat Juffair

While this flat was nice and semi-close to base, it was less than to be desired. It was a nice quick walk to the bridge, however, there were so many crazy things about this quaint little flat.

Our Villa in Bu Quwah

I fell in love with this villa the moment we walked up to the door. We shared this wonderful place with some of our closest friends, the Hughes.
